Pony Tale

Phone: 7

I was telling my wife about the latest chapter in the saga and she asked me to drive her over to the farm. When we arrived at the farm, the pasture was empty. Sometime during the night that pony could smell the water in the pond at the next pasture and she hopped the fence to get a drink. We watched her as the farmer's son was herding some cows from the barn out to a third pasture. When the boy went back after a couple of strays, the pony ran through the gate to be with the cows. That afternoon when the boy led the cows back to the barn the pony followed the herd right into the barn. Excited, the boy ran into the house to tell his father. The father told him to bolt the barn door shut. The farmer then went into the barn and the pony ran to the far end of the barn and hid behind a cow. The farmer went over to the stall and leaned over with a rope and put it around the ponies neck. That is when all hell broke loose. The pony rolled around the barn floor and thrashed all over getting covered with cow manure. Somehow, the farmer managed to get the pony into his livestock trailer and drove over to Bob's house. Bob was sitting in his favorite chair on his porch when the farmer pulled up to deliver the pony. Bob tried to reward him, but the farmer would not take anything. Bob then gave him his phone number and told him to call if he ever needed any help with anything. The pony has been placed in a isolation stall where Bob talks to it and feeds it. It is still a little jumpy when it is touched. It will take some time for it to get used to humans. Thus ends the Pony Tale.......................John McGarrity
