Dec. 31, 2009 Web Site:Happy New Year! December was a letdown when it came to riding. There was a little desperation riding out there, but not enough snow to groom. The snow word is in the forecast, but no big snows coming for the next week. As always, the forecast is subject to change. The first of the year is a good time to renew those smoke alarm batteries as well as any other battery powered electronics that you may own. Please don't forget to renew your snowmobile club membership. Also include a note stating if you want a card or not. ** Update - We had between 1 - 2 inches of fresh snow this morning. I took my ATV back on my trail and it cut right through to the ground. There is no base under the fresh snow. ** I received a phone call this evening that some sledders were up on Ridge Rd. and got some riding in. There were ruts under the snow and while it certainly wasn't prime riding conditions, if you were 13, had passed your safety course and had your first sled, you wouldn't feel any bumps at all!
